Международная экологическая премия «ЭкоМир»

In 2017, RANS with support from its partners, held the contest for the "EcoWorld-2017" Prize. There were participants from 24 countries and 40 regions of Russia, presenting their ideas, projects and works, which contribute to ecological safety and raise the awareness of environmental problems in the 21st century.

Te ceremony of awarding the laureates of the International Ecology Prize "EcoWorld" was held November 30, 2017 in the Small Hall of the State Duma of the Russian Federation. The solemn ceremony was preceded by the exhibition of the art works created by the contest participants.

Prize History

The International Ecology Prize "EcoWorld" is the legal successor of the "EcoMir" National Ecology Award, which was established in 2004. The prize is a public award for achievements in the field of environmental protection, with the main goal being to draw public attention to the solution of environmental problems through new programs, projects and technologies. The founders of the Prize are: Interregional Public Foundation "Foundation for Charitable Initiatives" and public organization "Russian Academy of Natural Sciences" (RANS).

The Russian Academy of Natural Sciences (RANS), established in 1990 at the initiative of the authors of fundamental scientific discoveries, is an all-Russian public scientific organization. The Academy was accredited to the United Nations on January 17, 1995, and in July 2002, RANS was granted the status of a non-governmental organization with the UN. RANS currently consists of about 3500 members, doctors of science and professors working in research organizations and universities across the country. Academy has its regional branches in 51 Federal subjects of the Russia, and scientists from 48 countries are elected to the Academy as foreign members.

Annual contests for the title of laureate of this award made it possible to identify the most efficient projects in the field of environmental protection and public health, and draw attention to potential measures for their support by investors and executive authorities in the regions. Project developers from 76 subjects of the Russian Federation, as well as Armenia, Belarus, Ukraine, France and Chile participated in the award contests.

Following the competitions for the "EcoMir" National Ecology Award, exhibitions were organized, usually held in the State Duma of the Russian Federation.

Among the Prize winners of different years were: Dario Salas Somer (Chile) - for the creation of a new scientific field - the physics of Morality; V.A. Chereshnev, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences (Russia), leading the development of the project of the Environmental Doctrine of the Russian Federation; Pierre Cardin (France) - for the implementation of the "smart house" project; Governor of the Belgorod Region E.S. Savchenko (Russia) - for directing the development of the program "The Role of State Executive Authorities in Implementing the Program for Improving the Quality of Life of the Population of the Region" and others.

Dear colleagues and friends!

We are pleased to announce the International Ecology Prize "EcoWorld".

The International Ecology Prize "EcoWorld" is a public prize for outstanding achievements in the protection of the environment and ensuring environmental safety, as well as in other environmental activities aimed at sustainable development in the 21st century.

The contest is aimed at promoting the development of environmental policies, raising the level of environmental education and environmental culture of the population, developing environmental science, spreading environmentally friendly technologies, improving public health and preserving biodiversity.

Selection of contest participants is done on the basis of submitted applications and documents confirming the implementation of their projects, programs and initiatives.

Applications for participation in the contest may be submitted to the Organizing Committee by either legal entities (enterprise collaborations, authorities, organizations and their subdivisions, including departments, sectors, faculties and laboratories) or individual applicants and other interested persons.

Conditions and requirements for the applications are listed in the Statue on the International EcologyPrize "EcoWorld", which is available from www.raen.info website.
